Dale Jacobs, Board of Directors, President
Dale was born in San Francisco, California, and grew up in the coastal town of Pacifica. In 1975 she boarded a plane for Hawai'i and has been in the islands ever since. Her love for young children guided her to Waldorf Education where she began her teaching career with pre-school and kindergarten-age children. On a visit to the Big Island, she was guided to a pow wow which touched her ancestral roots. When she returned to Kaua'i, she connected with other Native Americans and assisted in creating the Kaua'i Pow Wow Council. Dale has been involved with KPC since 1997 and looks forward to another wonderful year bringing this rich culture to our Kaua'i home. |

Lisa Jobson, Board of Directors - Vice President
Born in PA. and moved to Kauai 16 years ago. I am Cherokee and Scots/Irish. I have been a member of the Kaua'i Pow Wow Board for two years. I have been studying under Kumu Kehaulani (Hawaiian cultural practitioner) and Kumu Ohai (La'au Lapa'au practioner - medicinal plants.) One of the focuses of our Powwow is to share our culture with the Hawaiian culture. It is an enriching experience. I am so grateful to have our Native American Indian brothers and sisters here every year. It truly is an honor. I have an M.A. in marriage and family therapy but prefer working with the plant, rock, and animal worlds. |

Jane Ely, Board of Directors - Secretary
In her fourth year of service on the Council, Jane enjoys participating in the year round education program in the schools. She is Mi'kmaq, Cherokee and Scottish ancestry and dances Woman's Traditional Style at Pow Wow. Dr. Ely is a counselor, mediator and peacemaker with extensive background and training. She has a private practice in Liuhe, Kauai and on the mainland. She is an author and writer. Recently, she has returned to organic gardening and growing herbal healing plants. |
